"what do you mean by kin?"

most of the characters i kin are spiritual for me, and a few are for fun/to cope with identity issues.
i believe in past lives + the multiverse, so i personally believe that i have a past life as these characters and have memories from them. all characters i have listed here are spiritual, and genuinely see as myself.

kinning also just helps me cope with my identity issues stemmed from borderline personality disorder. i have been professionally diagnosed and since i have a lost sense of my own identity, taking on the identities of characters helps me cope with that.

♡ the love of my life ♡

Diego is my lovely boyfriend who I intend on marrying one day. I refer to him as my husband so often that it feels weird to just say boyfriend anymore. I love him so much and I would do anything in this world for him. He's also the biggest reason I ship Viego/Akshan.We currently don't live together, but I am hopefully going to be able to move in with him in a year or two. In the meantime, I enjoy having the privilege to call him every day and fall asleep on call with him every night. I miss him and wish I could hold him close to me every day that he isn't here with me.There are bumps in the road sometimes, but we always get through it. At the end of each day, I hope that he goes to bed knowing how much I love him and how important he is to me. When I am in his arms, it feels like I am home.

Along with being a cutie, he is also very talented. He draws and has an Instagram and Twitter. You should go follow him if you like his art, I think he deserves a lot more recognition for what he can create. He's improved so much since I met him and I'm so proud of everything he does.I love my baby with all my heart. I can't wait to finally be able to live together so I can protect him and comfort him with more than just words. I can't wait to be able to cook for him when he comes home. I can't wait to be able to own pets with him and hopefully even adopt a kid with him. I just can't wait to be with him.He is such a good boy.

why i hate viesolde

Riot has released their game "Ruined King," providing us with more lore behind Viego and his reign. Something that the fanbase loves to gloss over is the toxicity and abuse in his relationship with his ex-wife, Isolde. That is what I will be discussing here along with supporting evidence from Riot themselves.Let's start with this: Viego was not an innocent person before his death. Many people like to think of Viego as being a "precious baby" who was only madly in love. It's understandable as to why they would assume that, but what they fail to remember is that he was born and raised in Camavor. He is a Camavorian."At their core, Camavorians were supremacist expansionists who kept everything they stole or conquered like a giant menagerie, viewing it as a testament to their valor," says Jared Rosen, a principal writer for Viego. [x]

Isolde's origin & the start of their relationship

In the same Twitter thread, Rosen confirms that Isolde is from a country conquered by Camavor. Even mentioning that there is a lot of "not great" context, which is left intentional. [x]

This already tells you that their relationship was not healthy. The powerful, immature 22-year-old king conquered a country and saw someone he wanted from it. Now, there is confirmation that Isolde had accepted Viego of her own will, but another user makes a point in the thread: what is a peasant's will even worth in this context? To which Rosen had no response. [x]

It's not only this thread that implies Isolde had no choice, but also Viego's Champion Insights article found here.

Author of the article, Erika Haas (AKA Riot Cashmiir), even states that "it's hard to know whether Viego truly loved Isolde, or loved that she was his." I personally believe it is the latter, seeing Isolde only as yet another thing he can conquer and own.

This leaves us not only with the possibility of her accepting Viego of her own will but also Viego viewing her as nothing more but something he owns. It may have very well been a situation in which she actually had no choice. This alone should be enough to prompt a distaste towards their relationship.

The Ruined King game

Okay, so there's no confirmation that Isolde was forced into the relationship, and no confirmation that Viego only loved owning her. Depending on how much copium you're on, you may ask "What evidence do you have now that they weren't happy together?" And to that, I give you the recently-released Ruined King game. Ruined King provides us with not only more information about Viego himself but also the biggest reason I think Viesolde is an awful ship: Viego was abusive towards Isolde, and there's no doubt about it.

In the game's narrative, Ahri accesses Viego's memories from the black mist emanating off of Gangplank after he was possessed and defeated. The memories she discovers are ones that Viego represses and refuses to acknowledge. The following images are Viego's memories revealed to us in a cutscene from the game.

The most obvious indication of abuse is the first memory shown. Viego scolds Isolde, demanding that she needs to act like a queen. There's no telling what that fight could have been about, but it couldn't be any more apparent that Viego did not respect Isolde and would berate her when she didn't act like he wanted her to. In the second memory shown, she is ill and lying in bed as Viego holds what would soon be her fetters and says she will "never die." I shouldn't have to explain why this gives a wrong, unsettling feeling. In the third memory, Viego can be seen in an argument with Isolde as they shout at each other. "I know what is best for us," he says, showing how he considers himself to be in control of their relationship. It should come as no surprise that Viego was a very controlling man even before he became ruined. When Ahri tells the others about the memories she got from Viego, she says that he is ashamed of the truth, and at the end Isolde was afraid of him. Braum butts in and says "but he won't stop crying about how much she needs him!" In response, Ahri says "It's a lie he's telling to himself. A secret he keeps imprisoned in a forgotten corner of his heart."As the game's narrative progresses, it is revealed to us that Viego has hidden these memories away from himself. When Ahri confronts Viego and says his love is a lie, he only denies it and calls the memories "lies."This led many to speculate that the memories aren't real, or somehow altered by Thresh. Riot proceeds to debunk this and confirm that these are real memories Viego has repressed.

Riot's responses

Of course, many questions emerged from those who played the game and saw Viego's memories. Sure enough, Riot gave some interesting answers.Below are excerpts from a Reddit post that creative director Rowan Parker (AKA Riot Bean) had made to answer questions about Viego and Isolde's relationship. [x]

Parker says that Viego was a perfectionist in love, and he did throw away the memories of their fights. However, they also state that Viego did not learn from his mistakes and continued to do awful things in the name of love. Parker also says that being in love means "remembering and learning from the times you made mistakes" and "Viego wasn't able to do this when Isolde became ill."In clear words, Parker says Viego's love became possessive and even dangerous. "Sometimes, if trying to save your relationship with someone would only hurt them, it's better to let them go." Viego clearly should have let her die in peace, but instead, he attacked a nation of innocent people. Rowan Parker clearly confirms that their relationship was not happy or healthy, and actually hurt Isolde. At the end of their response, Parker states that they "don’t think it’s wrong to fantasize about or write fanfic about what it could have been like if Viego and Isolde’s relationship had been better." Obviously, this is true as people are allowed to ship and enjoy whatever they please, but it isn't always a good thing either. This part of the response is what I believe to be the copium that people are overdosing on, still trying to justify their canonical relationship. The last straw they're grasping for to say viesolde is healthy, despite Parker directly confirming it wasn't.

On December 8th, 2021, Necrit posted a video on YouTube with a few Rioters answering questions about the Ruined King game. Of course, the question about Viego and Isolde's relationship came up.Here is the link to the video. At 1:08:54, Tenebrix asks if Viego and Isolde were happy. To this, Rowan Parker says that they were neither always happy nor always miserable. "The long answer is relationships can be nuanced and difficult...relationships in the real world just aren't black and white..."This comes as no surprise since you can definitely have moments of happiness or romance in a relationship while it's also an unhealthy one. However, at 1:10:48, when Parker says "I think we want things to be really clear cut, like if it's 100% this or 100% that, and the reality is that..." Joe Madureira interrupts and says the following:"I will say like, personally, that was an instance in which we dialed back because I did want to show the absolute worst aspects of him [Viego] and show something bad." Madureira proceeds to say "Maybe it wasn't always that way, but there was... these times, and I think there are certain things that are better left to people's interpretations. Maybe it would just make a character too unlikable, or unredeemable, or whatever it is. You can hang on to your fantasy of like 'no, he was this way!' I think that was one of those cases where we just felt like it was better to dial back, and it made sense because...I don't know, I can go pretty dark."Now, I'm almost certain I don't have to explain what this was hinting at. I personally believe that Madureira had initially wanted to show Viego being physically abusive towards Isolde, but they didn't show that due to the possibility of making Viego "too unlikeable" or "unredeemable."

Absolution, Sentinels of Light 2021 Cinematic

In the cinematic following the Sentinels of Light event, Absolution, Isolde clearly shows disgust and disappointment in what Viego has become. She says "All this death, all this ruination... and for what? This obsession?" This shows she is aware that it isn't love he feels, but obsession. "Our tragedy should have died with me. Now, let me rest." This final quote from Isolde confirms that she doesn't love Viego and wants to be left in peace. What more could someone say to make it clear that they were not happy being in that relationship?

Viego and Isolde had a canonically abusive relationship. Isolde was afraid of and resented Viego towards the end. When she was revived in the blessed waters, she stabbed him out of anger, fear and confusion. She did not want to come back to him because she does not love him. When she's revived for the second time, she immediately rejects Viego once more and tells Akshan to put her to rest for good by killing her. Akshan rightfully does so.This has been why I hate Viesolde and why you should too. Thanks for reading.

im also just gay and bitter and want viego to be only My husband LOL
